PROBLEM:
My appliance will not work at all.
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:
Check the circuit breaker at the main electrical box. Has it tripped?
If the circuit breaker has tripped, reset the circuit breaker by
shutting it off and then turning it on again. If the circuit breaker
looks okay and there is still a problem with the machine, then,
call us for service.
PROBLEM:
My dishwasher has a brownish coating on the inside porcelain of
the machine. (Some communities have high mineral content in their
water supply which creates a gradual mineral buildup on the inside
of the dishwasher).
POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
Rover Rust Buster®* or citric acid crystals will wash away the build-up,
so simply follow manufacturer instructions. They are available at
your local hardware store.
PROBLEM:
My dryer takes too long to dry a normal load of clothes. (Most dryers
take about one hour to dry a normal load).
POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
If the dryer has been moved recently, check the vent hose at the
back of the machine for possible kinks that will restrict the flow
of air out of the machine. If problem is during the springtime,
check the outside of the house for possible birds' nest interfering
with the air flow at the vent exit. If this solution does not fix
the problem, then call us for service.
PROBLEM:
My dishwasher won't work and I have had out-of-town guests and /or
cleaning people at my home recently.
POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
Check for a hidden on/off switch behind a toaster, etc. on the counter
or under the sink. Occasionally guests or service personnel will
automatically shut off appliances when they are through using them;
the homeowner uses the machine everyday and is not accustom to shutting
the switch off. If this is not the answer to the problem for you,
call us for service.
PROBLEM:
My washer will not spin the clothes enough the first time through
a cycle, but if I put the clothes through a second spin cycle, the
machine will ring out the clothes as usual.
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:
Too much detergent used, causing the pump to get clogged with air
bubbles from the soap suds. Try using 2/3 as much detergent or change
the brand of detergent. If the problem persists, call us for service.
PROBLEM:
My gas oven won't light
POSSIBLE
SOLUTION:
If the problem happens in the summertime at peak hours of electrical
usage, such as suppertime with air conditioner running, the oven
igniter may be experiencing a voltage drop from the normal 120 volts
and will not ignite the gas. Signs of the lower-than-normal voltage
will be apparent in the functioning of other machines in the home,
such as motors straining or slow, dimming of lights, etc. We suggest
trying the oven in the early morning at a low electrical usage time
of day and see if the oven will ignite. If the oven still will not
ignite, then call us for service.
